Write a creative brief from a messy request
Turn an email thread asking for "a campaign" into a one-page brief with the questions it doesn't answer.
The task
Requests arrive as forwarded threads and hallway chats. Give the assistant what you have and ask for a structured brief, with the missing pieces listed as questions for the requester.
A prompt to start from
Paste it into your AI assistant, then fill in the bits in [square brackets].
Below is a request for marketing work, as it came in. Turn it into a one-page creative brief with these headings: Objective, Audience, Key message, Proof points, Deliverables, Channels, Deadline, Budget, Approver, How we'll measure it.
Fill in only what the request says. For anything missing, write a specific question to ask the requester.
[paste request]
What to check in the output
- Send the questions back before starting work. That's the point.
- Check the objective is something measurable, not "raise awareness".
Before you paste anything in
Internal requests are usually fine. Remove anything confidential about unreleased products if your tool isn't approved for it.
Your organisation's AI policy wins over anything here.
