Write a first draft of a one-page workflow guide
Turn how you do a task with AI into a one-page guide a colleague can follow.
The task
When you've found a way of using AI that works, the next step is writing it down so a colleague can do the same. Describe the task, your prompt, what you check and what you never paste in, and ask for a one-page guide in a consistent format.
A prompt to start from
Paste it into your AI assistant, then fill in the bits in [square brackets].
Help me write a one-page guide so a colleague can do this task with an AI assistant the way I do. The task: [describe]. My prompt: [paste]. What I check in the output: [list]. What I never paste in: [list].
Format: - When to use this (one sentence) - The prompt to copy, with [placeholders] - Steps - What to check before using the output - What not to paste in - Who to ask for help
Keep it to one page. Plain British English.
What to check in the output
- Hand it to a colleague and watch them use it. Fix where they get stuck.
- Check it matches your organisation's AI policy.
Before you paste anything in
Use placeholders in the guide instead of real examples with personal or client data.
Your organisation's AI policy wins over anything here.
