Turn a week of updates into a one-page summary for your manager
Collate scattered team updates into what's done, what's at risk, and what you need.
The task
Weekly reporting means collating updates from several people and channels. Paste them in and ask for a one-page summary structured around decisions and risks, not activity.
A prompt to start from
Paste it into your AI assistant, then fill in the bits in [square brackets].
Below are this week's updates from my team. Write a one-page summary for my manager: - Three headlines (what matters this week) - Done - At risk, with the reason and what we're doing about it - Decisions or help I need, and by when
Be specific and brief. Leave out routine activity. Don't make anything sound better or worse than the updates say.
[paste updates]
What to check in the output
- Check every "at risk" item with its owner before sending.
- Make sure nothing a team member said in confidence ends up in the summary.
Before you paste anything in
Fine for routine updates in an approved tool. Keep personnel matters out.
Your organisation's AI policy wins over anything here.
