Tag and summarise a week of tickets by theme
Group a week's ticket subjects into themes for the product team, with examples.
The task
Product teams ask support "what are customers complaining about?" and get anecdotes. Export a week of ticket subjects and short descriptions, and ask the assistant to group them into themes with example tickets.
A prompt to start from
Paste it into your AI assistant, then fill in the bits in [square brackets].
Below is a list of support tickets from the last week (ID, subject, first line). Group them into themes. For each theme: - Name and one-line description - Roughly how many tickets - Three example ticket IDs - Whether it looks like a bug, a usability problem, a missing feature or a question the help centre should answer
Put tickets you can't group in "Other".
[paste export]
What to check in the output
- Counts are approximate; use your helpdesk's tags for anything you report formally.
- Open the example tickets to confirm the theme is right.
Before you paste anything in
Export subjects and first lines only, without customer names or emails.
Your organisation's AI policy wins over anything here.
